The End of Mediocre Coaching Is Here
Not long ago, the idea of AI shaping the coaching industry felt like science fiction.
But today, we’re not looking ahead to change; we’re already in the midst of it.
AI is no longer a distant concept—it’s here, and it’s reshaping the way we work, learn, and grow at a rapid pace.
The Wake-Up Call
"ChatGPT is one of those rare moments in technology where you see a glimmer of how everything is going to be different going forward."
— Aaron Levie
I remember when ChatGPT launched its voice feature.
I had a long conversation with Cove—my first AI assistant.
At the time, I was drowning in overwhelm—juggling too many moving parts in my business, feeling like clarity was slipping further away with every new task added to my plate.
And then, something unexpected happened.
Through a simple back-and-forth, my AI assistant did what I had only experienced in coaching sessions before: it asked me the kind of questions that made me slow down, pause, and notice the patterns in my own thinking.
It wasn’t just answering; it was holding space in a structured, impartial way. No bias. No fatigue.
It wasn’t coaching—not even close.
But it revealed just how powerful AI can be when used for reflection, self-inquiry, and decision-making.
It felt like a thought partner—available anytime, unbothered by complexity, and capable of helping me see what I was missing.
That was the wake-up call.
The Shift Already Happening
Coaching has always been seen as something inherently human.
The ability to ask the right questions, hold deep presence, and guide transformation—that’s been the soul of this work.
But what happens when AI begins to mirror those qualities?
At first, AI was limited to logistics: scheduling, note-taking, basic organization.
But now, it’s stepping into something much more nuanced.
AI can now replicate generic coaching frameworks—automating accountability, tracking client actions, offering real-time guidance rooted in data.
It can analyze a client’s progress with precision—spotting emotional patterns, subconscious shifts, and key areas for growth.
It can hold conversations that feel deeper than many surface-level coaching sessions—guiding reflection, prompting clarity, offering tailored insight in real time.
It can even anticipate a client’s next block—reading between the lines of previous sessions, spotting mindset loops, and surfacing new strategies to move them forward.
The Hard Truth
AI is not going to replace great coaches.
But it will replace mediocre ones.
If your coaching depends on surface-level prompts, cookie-cutter frameworks, or checking in on tasks—AI will outperform it. And it won’t need rest.
How to Future-Proof Yourself
"In a world where AI can automate everything, your perspective, your style, and your vibe are what make you irreplaceable."
– Thomas Waschenfelder
Thriving in this new landscape comes down to two things:
• Building a Holistic Brand that’s impossible to copy
• Learning to collaborate with AI in a way that amplifies what only you can offer
Building Your Holistic Brand
The key to standing out in an AI-driven space is creating a brand so deeply aligned with who you are that it can’t be outsourced.
• Clarify Your Brand Philosophy – Define the values, perspective, and lived mission that guide your work.
• Develop a Signature Coaching Framework – AI can replicate strategies, but it can’t create a method built from your unique story, worldview, and transformation.
• Craft a Message That Resonates – AI can draft content, but it can’t speak with your voice. The words that move people most are the ones that carry your lived emotion.
• Create Transformational Experiences – AI can guide a process. But it can’t feel the room shift. It can’t track subtle energy, hold silence, or follow an intuitive turn. That’s your domain.
Becoming AI Enabled
When your foundation is rooted, AI doesn’t replace your magic—it makes space for more of it.
• Deepen Client Insights – Let AI help track emotional patterns, detect blind spots, and illuminate what your client may not yet be able to name.
• Automate Admin Without Losing Connection – Use it to handle logistics like scheduling, follow-ups, and nurturing, so you stay focused on the part of your work that actually changes lives.
• Make Content Creation Effortless – Whether you’re writing a newsletter or mapping out a sales page, AI can help you get clear, stay consistent, and refine your voice—without the pressure.
• Edit Videos & Audio – Save time with tools that clean audio, trim recordings, remove filler words, and generate captions in minutes.
• Optimize Your Workflow & Energy – Automate reminders and task flows so your energy goes where it’s needed most.
You don’t have to do it all. You just need to begin.
Start by having a simple conversation with your AI assistant.
Open ChatGPT, click on the voice feature on the bottom right and ask something real:
• What’s getting in my way right now?
• What do I need to refocus on?
• Where am I out of alignment in my business?
Let it respond. Let it reflect.
Treat it like a thought partner who listens and learns over time.
Then, give it something small to handle.
At the top of your ChatGPT screen, click “Explore GPTs” and open “Tasks.”
Try one of these:
• Ask it to help you stay accountable to your daily coaching mastery, meditation or workout
• Give it a research task—like pulling the latest coaching trends or self-trust frameworks
• Let it write the first draft of your weekly content (newsletter, IG post, or blog)
These aren’t shortcuts.
They’re support systems.
They free up your energy so you can go deeper in the work that matters most.
If You’re Worried It’ll Make You Less Authentic
That fear is real. Especially if your work is intuitive, values-driven, or deeply personal.
But here’s what I’ve learned:
Authenticity doesn’t disappear when you use AI.
It disappears when you’re too overwhelmed that you don't even show up.
When used with intention, AI doesn’t erase your essence—it amplifies it.
Until next time,
Keep climbing.
